FLOOR LEVELING / HOUSE LEVELING
FLOOR LEVELING is a process used to correct uneven floors and out of square interior walls.
The problem is usually caused by settlement of the perimeter foundation wall and/or support posts. There are many reasons for settlement and each situation has different factors. Some foundations, over the years settle, and never move again. Sometimes seismic activity causes a resettlement. The most common cause for settlement is poor drainage.
The process for FLOOR LEVELING a house is as follows:
-Large shoring beams are placed beneath the area to be leveled.
-Foundation anchors are released and support posts disconnected.
-Hydraulic jacks are strategically placed under the shoring beams.
-The area to be leveled is then slowly and systematically lifted to the best level position possible.
-Once leveled, the house is reattached to the foundation and support posts reattached.
The FLOOR LEVELING process only lifts sections of the house a fraction of an inch at a time. The house is not lifted up into the air as is common with house moving companies. All of the occupants belonging remain in the house during the leveling process.
